We have an exciting new role of Compliance Assistant that we are recruiting for, to support our Risk & Compliance team in Newcastle on a full-time basis.

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate will provide compliance support to the firm and the Head of Risk & Compliance, and to the Operations team with routine daily and weekly operations tasks based at the regional offices.

Main Duties

Compliance (9.30am-4pm)

Including but not limited to:

  • Support the Head of Risk & Compliance to maintain compliance in line with the Legal industry rules and regulations
  • Onboard new and existing clients and entities on Partner for Windows:
    • Process client ID and complete an e verification checks on clients
    • Ensure file opening is being completed with accuracy and in a timely manner
  • Deal with day-to-day compliance queries that are sent to the compliance mailbox
  • Deliver compliance project work as directed by the Head of Risk & Compliance
  • To carry out monthly compliance audits on all fee earning staff in each client facing departments and keep a record of the audit on Access Compliance.
  • Carry out various compliance related tasks

 Operations (8.30am – 9.30am, 4pm – 5pm with some ad hoc duties in between)

Including but not limited to:

  • Opening up and closing down procedures in the office, to include setting up coffee facilities for staff and additional provisions for clients
  • Attending to incoming post
  • Undertake training to enable them to execute the roles of Fire Marshall and First Aider
  • Conduct low level Health & Safety checks throughout the office, take meter readings and feedback results to the Operations team

This list of duties is indicative of the level of responsibility and tasks which the role of Compliance Assistant will routinely perform, however they may be asked to complete any task by the firm which is within the capability of the role holder.
