We have an exciting new role of Legal Assistant that we are recruiting for, to support our Wills, Trusts & Probate team in Carlisle. Whilst full-time would be preferable, we will also consider part-time hours (3.5/4 days) for the right candidate.
Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will join our busy and friendly team, and be able to demonstrate sound knowledge and experience of office administration, ideally in a legal environment
Knowledge and experience of assisting with wills, trusts and probate law matters is desirable. Specific training will be provided as necessary on our systems, legal procedures and the relevant law.
The role will include:
- Proactively managing diaries and arranging appointments.
- Contact with clients to obtain necessary information for conflict and AML checks.
- Liaising with Compliance Team as necessary to ensure all relevant client information is up to date on case management and compliance systems.
- Prepare correspondence and documents from digital dictation and copy typing where required.
- Preparing and giving quotes as delegated by department based fee earners.
- Liaising with Compliance Team as necessary to open and close files.
- Filing, archiving, photocopying, scanning documents as and when required.
The successful candidate will have a proactive, ‘can-do’ attitude to enable them to work closely with a team of legal fee-earners, paralegals and legal assistants on all aspects of this work. The ability to work as part of a team is therefore essential together with excellent communication, organisational and IT skills.
