Paralegal – Court of Protection

We are looking to recruit a full time Paralegal to join our Court of Protection team based at our Newcastle office.

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate will be an experienced administrator with strong organisational skills to support the department with specific legal tasks to include:

  • Open new files and checking/obtaining ID;
  • Supporting with case handling on a day-to-day basis to meet an annual target where applicable.
  • Discussing matters with clients and providing basic advice.
  • Maintaining client files.
  • Drafting documentation.
  • Conducting case research, as requested by more senior team members.
  • Reconciliation of Deputy bank accounts
  • Assisting the lawyer on larger cases taking responsibility for tasks given.
  • Accurately record time to each case worked on.
  • Assisting with the department administration where capacity allows.

The successful candidate will have a friendly, calm and helpful approach to enable them to work closely with the team of legal fee earners on all aspects of this work.  The ability to work as part of a team is therefore essential together with excellent communication and IT skills.
