Rebecca Dawson

Rebecca is a Partner in our Commercial Property team.

Rebecca graduated from Northumbria University with a BSc (Hons) in Building Management and went on to complete her RICS exams in building surveying. She later qualified as a solicitor in 2003 with a prominent Newcastle law firm where she spent four years in the commercial property team, before moving to an in-house legal role for a North East developer for eight years.

She has experience in all areas of commercial property, but specialises in development and construction. She deals with a range of different acquisition and development agreements for both the owner and the developer, development finance arrangements and agreements for new renewable energy projects.

Rebecca has experience in the drafting and amending of building contracts, appointments, warranties, performance bonds and guarantees both on behalf of developers, contractors and consultants. She has also assisted in an expert determination for a developer and two adjudications for an employer under a building contract.
