Burnetts retains Great Place to Work status

After building our company culture with employee advocacy at its heart, we were delighted to be recognised as a Great Place to Work for the first time in 2021. Since then, we have made it our aim to listen and respond to feedback from our staff and implement employee led changes to keep employee wellbeing, development and trust at the core of our policies and practices.

In the last year alone, we have seen the introduction of Workvivo, our new internal communications platform, that allows everyone to keep in touch with their colleagues between departments and offices, with social features designed to help create a more unified culture whilst also enabling business support departments such as HR, Finance, Compliance and IT to post important updates in real time and in one handy and easy to access place.

We have significantly improved our wellbeing provision by increasing our holiday entitlement for all employees to 30 days, excluding public holidays, and have implemented AXA private medical care for staff at all levels. Furthermore, we have embraced hybrid and flexible working patterns as we appreciate that everyone works differently and no two of our employees have the same needs. We recognise that long hours spent working in the office doesn’t necessarily equal productivity and we want our staff to find the best way of working for them, that allows them to thrive within our organisation. In recognition of this, we have also launched our Going the Extra Mile Awards for employees those who continually go above and beyond in their work.

In a nutshell, revaluating the dynamic of our organisation has allowed us to focus on what is really important and that is our staff; their expertise and unwavering commitment to client care is what makes us the first-rate firm we are today. Our diverse and progressive approach to business is down to the unique culture and personality of our firm – built by those who work in it. We are pleased that we can show our thanks and appreciation by implementing and continuing to implement employee focused policies as well as by engaging with our staff and creating an environment where they can speak openly and honestly and know that we couldn’t do it without them.
