Our Medical Negligence and Serious Injury team provides a complete service that assists with your legal needs as well as rehabilitation help to return to your normal life. For almost 30 years we have been recognised by leading legal guides such as Chambers and Partners and Legal 500 for our leadership in the areas of medical negligence and serious injury.

Headway – the Brain Injury Association

Headway promote understanding of all aspects of brain injury, providing information, support and services to brain injured individuals, their families and carers. Headway campaign to reduce the incidence of brain injury in the UK.

Headway’s objectives are:

  1. To increase awareness and understanding of brain injury and its consequences
  2. To initiate activities and campaigns which will reduce the incidence of brain injury
  3. To provide information and support for people with brain injuries, their relatives, carers and concerned professional people
  4. To promote improved approaches to brain injury screen, acute care, assessment, rehabilitation and community reintegration
  5. To assist people with brain injuries to return to community living, including access to appropriate accommodation, social outlets and productive activity
  6. To support and help to establish Headway groups throughout the UK in furtherance of the charity’s mission statement and encourage them to address the needs of all sections of the community

Headway has more than 125 groups and branches across the UK providing support, services and information to brain injury survivors, their families and carers.

Members of our specialist Medical Negligence and Serious Injury team are proud to volunteer their time and expertise in support of Headway groups, acting as chairpersons, treasurers and committee members.

Headway offers a wealth of services to support people affected by brain injuries. It has a nurse-led freephone helpline (0808 800 2244) and publishes comprehensive factsheets and information about all aspects of Acquired Brain Injury.

Spinal Injury Association

The Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) is the voice and leading source of support and information to people with spinal cord injuries.

The SIA assist individuals following a spinal cord injury to represent them in their community, to the government and to campaign, educate and support. The SIA provide such support through the personal experiences of members.

The SIA believe that everyone has a right to live a fulfilled life and that means the life they choose, a life that has the same opportunities as everyone else.

The SIA aim to achieve their objective by:

  1. Working together in an environment build on respect and mutual support
  2. Always being user-led in their decision-making and development
  3. Empowering spinal cord injured people as the experts in managing their own lives
  4. Being committed to the ever-changing needs of spinal cord injured people by campaigning for the best treatment and care
  5. Challenging perceptions and behaviours towards spinal cord injury, ensuring a more inclusive society
  6. Having integrity in their work, collaborating with others where a greater impact can be achieved.

UK Acquired Brain Injury Forum

UK Acquired Brain Injury Forum (UKABIF) is a national charity which aims to promote better understanding of all aspects of acquired brain injury.

UKABIF undertakes the following roles:

  1. Lobbying – UKABIF raises awareness of Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) in parliament and amongst policy makers. UKABIF’s primary objective is to ensure that people with acquired brain injury have early access to good quality, local, specialist neurorehabilitation and follow up services in the community if they are required
  2. Signposting – UKABIF provide information and links to other organisations so that people with brain injury, their carers and professionals have access to all the details they need
  3. Networking – UKABIF has a network of regional groups and an active online community. This means that people who work in the field of Acquired Brain Injury are supported on a local and national basis and have access to contacts, care provision and educational resources
  4. Education – UKABIF organises an accredited national conference each year. Periodically they also offer specialist seminars. These events aim to educate attendees from a variety of professional backgrounds
